Flaviar Advent Calendar (2022) - The Depths of Whiskey. Whiskey #9. Product of Japan, 40% abv.
The smell is light oak, spice, fresh red fruits, and light vanilla. A pretty nice smell on this one.
The taste is decent. A good amount of flavor but it’s all muted. All of the flavors are light. This has a bit of oak, like virgin oak spice, vanilla, honey, and a bit of corn husk. Nothing too exciting, it has the Japanese whisky profile.
The finish is medium. The spice and honey are mostly driving the finish but the red fruits show at the very end.
This is decent. I don’t drink a lot of Japanese whiskies. These lighter-style whiskies aren’t my preference but seem to be the more affordable Japanese offerings.
